Oisans hosts spectacular mountain bike competitions such as "Megavalanche" (the longest MTB downhill race in the world, starting on the Alpe-d’Huez glacier and finishing 30 km and 2 800 metres further down, in the centre of the village of Allemont) or the “Mountain of Hell”, a free ride downhill race in Les 2 Alpes. The region is also well known in the cycling community as being part of the legendary Tour de France.
The flagship resort and, as its name suggests, the Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine VTT covers a huge area, linking Oz en Oisans, Vaujany and Auris en Oisans, featuring all MTB styles. With 9 lifts open throughout the summer and a shuttle bus to the Auris resort, the Alpe d’Huez massif devotes the summer to mountain-biking. Many routes on “natural” tracks, in other words not created for exclusive MTB use. This gives an untamed enduro ambiance for endless enjoyment.
Shuttle bus brings you up from Allemont to Oz en Oisans.
